Singapore Standard Chartered Marathon (SSCM) also known as Singapore marathon. It was my first attempt at 42km, although I once vowed that 21km Army half Marathon would be my longest distance. Guess it was the difference between forced to do or wanting to do something. There are so many inspiring videos online that gave me the idea why not try once since I am so young. I woke up as early as 350am to prepare. Not really prepared and could feel the jitters inside myself. Dear was beside me and she couldn't go down to support as she have to work later in the day. But she promised the next time she will be there, didn't you? Took a chartered bus at Woodlands stadium to cityhall. After the hectic bag deposit, went to start point along as I wasn't going to meet anyone. Run alone for 20+++ KK when I saw yingfeng. Didn't know he is running, or I would have start with him. Continued and saw Terence and his Friend a few km ahead. The moment it hits 30km, was the worse part. A battle between your mind and body will begin and it's a struggle to carry-on. Pushed myself to the max and even when I have to walk, I will forced myself to walk at a quickened pace. Finally after 6 hrs and 40 mins, I finally finished the entire run. Yes, the feeling. The feeling which the runners said that you can never understand unless you are the Marathon runner yourself. it is really a great great feeling. Collected my medal and the finisher's tee and had lunch with yingfeng. After which, cab and home sweet home. I will definately run again.
